About H2F

At Heart to Feet, we believe that dance is about connection, joy, and movement. Our mission is to introduce, support, and guide people through the beauty of social dance and other movement-based experiences. While we specialize in social dance styles, we also offer folk dance, Acroyoga, and other forms of connective movement. We are a Leuven (Belgium) based organization, but also offer workshops and classes elsewhere upon demand.

Our focus is not on performances but on fostering meaningful interactions between people. We aim to make these dances accessible to everyone, helping individuals experience the joy of movement, music, and human connection.

At the core of our approach is consent and respectful communication. Beyond teaching dance techniques, we emphasize the importance of understanding personal boundaries, expressing preferences, and engaging in meaningful exchanges with others. At Heart to Feet, dancing is not just about steps—it’s about creating a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

More about social Dance

Social dance can be found all over the world in diverse settings. You might step onto the floor at a lively Latin party, moving between salsa and bachata. Or you could find yourself at a swing dance event, dancing lindy hop, blues, or Charleston. Perhaps you’ll experience a Balfolk gathering, where live musicians play tunes that bring people together in circles, lines, and couples’ dances from across Europe. Or maybe it’s as simple and familiar as the dance floor at your uncle’s wedding, where your whole family—young and old—is laughing, moving, and celebrating together. No matter the style or setting, the heart of social dancing remains the same—connection, movement, and joy.

Examples of (couple) social dances are: Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Zouk, Forró, Kizomba, Waltz, Lindy Hop, Swing, Scottish, Polka, Polska and Blues.

Unlike performance-based dance styles, social dancing isn’t about perfecting fancy steps or impressing an audience. Instead, it’s about movement, enjoyment, and shared experience. People come to social dance for many reasons: to unwind, to have fun, to connect with others, or simply to enjoy the rhythm of the music. Most social dances encourage dancing with different partners throughout the night, though dancing with a consistent partner is always welcome too.

More about Balfolk

Balfolk is a dance tradition that thrives on community and shared movement. Rooted in European folk traditions, it brings people together in circles, lines, and couples, moving to live music that ranges from soulful mazurkas to energetic bourrées. There’s no rigid choreography—just a flow of steps, guided by the rhythm and the dancers around you. Whether you're linking arms in a chain dance or twirling with a partner, Balfolk is about presence, connection, and the simple joy of moving together.

More about Acroyoga

Acroyoga blends the mindful breath of yoga with the playful trust of acrobatics. It’s a practice of balance, strength, and deep connection—whether you're flying, basing, or spotting. Unlike other yoga forms, Acroyoga invites you to move with another person, finding stability in shared weight and movement. Some flows feel meditative and slow, others dynamic and powerful, but all revolve around trust, communication, and a sense of joyful exploration.
